The big names that come to mind for player of the year are (in no order):

Ryan Tauss (Nisky), Cameron Olsen (Shen), and Danny Carrillo (Bethlehem).

There could be some sleepers but the award is most likely to go to one of these 3.

THOUGHTS???

I say Ryan Tauss is a favorite in my book. Very impressed by his style and level of play, I have him winning player of the year.

Alec Johnson. Johnson is an intelligent player who creates attacking opportunities for his teammates and is an excellent defender. He is a returning Ballston Spa co-captain, was team co-MVP (with Preece) last year, and (with Tauss and Preece) was named a suburban counsel all-star last year as an underclassman. He recently (again with Tauss and Preece) was selected to play for the Adirondak Region in the Empire State Games.

Connor Preece is not on my radar. He is young and will just be in the shadow of Tauss, Olsen, and Carrillo. Tauss is a fantastic player but I feel like he doesn't have the same electricity in his game as the Olsen and Carrillo. It will be a tight race though and I'm excited to see it play out.

Who is Dan Cavosie? If he is younger and no one has ever heard of him then he clearly won't get PLAYER OF THE YEAR. Let's keep this post realistic please. If he is on Shen, like afrimssports said...Cam Olsen is there too, who is at least in the top 3 for player of the year.

too many great non-scoring players go unnoticed

Time will tell, but I'm thinking you're going to need to get that radar fixed...

Yes time will tell, Connor Preece will with out a doubt win next year. But everybody knows that a junior will not be in the running when the senior class has the talent of Tauss, Olsen, and Carrillo.

Cam Olsen of Shen and Ryan Tauss of Niskayuna are probably the two best players this year. Both Cam and Ryan are on the 1993 Region 1 Team and were selected to go to England and Scotland, as well as Spain to train with Real Madrid. That is greater than any other player from the area.

My Top 5 for POY is:
1. Cam Olsen (Shen)/Ryan Tauss (Nisky) (I can't find a way to put one in front of the other)
2. Danny Carrillo (Bethlehem)
3. Alec Johnson (BSpa)
4. Ercan Kilic (Saratoga) (If he joins the team this year)
5. Matt Silvi (Shen)

Could a keeper also win the player of the year award?
I mean, a keeper in my book is still a player.

NO WAY! Where did you hear this? Do you know what happened to him? If he really does miss a majority of the season though, his return will electrify Shen and make them play better when it counts (Playoffs).

Once again this year no mention of any Shaker Players. They will probably make it to the semifinals again with a bunch of no names. It happens every year and they are in the toughest division in Section 2 and get no respect.

Good point, forgot about Shaker.
1) Cameron Olsen (Shen)
2) Ryan Tauss (Nisky)
3) Danny Carrillo (Beth)
4) Austin Britt (Shaker)
5) Alec Johnson (BSpa)
