Who wants to see a rematch of last years Class C/CC final of the Waterford Fordians vs Vville Blackbirds? Who else is gonna compete with them?

EDITOR'S NOTE: What about Schoharie?

schoharie, voorheesville, and maple hill can do some damage in class c this year. i guess my pick would be for voorheesville to win it all but i wouldn't be surprised to see waterford, schoharie, or maple hill win it either.

Editors Note: Maple Hill will be in Class B this year.

Honestly, I think Schoharie would have been a better match for waterford last year and this year the same. Contrasting defensive and offensive styles wouldve led to a more competitive and entertaining match.

Waterford is and should be the preseason favorite in class C this year. However, voorheesville, schoharie, and a few other teams can definitely make a run at the title. Also I feel any team that gets out of the section 2 C field will make a run at the state title.

I would have to give it to waterford, Fre Breen I heard is just a champ. I know schoharie and V'Ville only lost like 2 players, did waterford lose any players this year?

To my understanding V'Ville loses their best midfield, and best defender. Schoharie loses their keeper. Waterford loses their 2nd and 3rd leading scorers. So as you can see each team returns quite a bit, and it should be a great battle for the Section title.

I figured these two teams would have been a great match for the fact that LaBadia and Breen play a very similar style. Theyre both very quick with great vision and perhaps better known for their imagination when on the ball. Wouldnt mind seeing Schoharie vs. Waterford this year, just hopefully, if it comes about, it wont come too soon in sectionals.

I think that there will be only one of these three teams being very successful this year in C. Few teams stay on top for a long time.

Monster, care to further elaborate on your ideas? I am interested in what you have in mind.

Honestly, i believe that Waterford will win Class C this year. Voorheesville won with more dtermination than skill. (not that they are not very skilled, they are) i just feel that waterford is the top team that everyone else including Schoharie, Galway, and Voorheesville will have to prove their skill to.
While sometimes in sectionals more than other times heart and determination often overcomes skill and gameplay, i believe Waterford still has an edge over the rest.

Top teams in Class C
1. Waterford
2. Schoharie
3. Galway
4. Voorheesville
5. Schenectady Christian

Don't know much about this years Christian team yet year in and year out they never fail to submit a challenging postseason team.

There is no way that Galway is above Voorheesville or in the same discussion as Waterford or Scoharie who are all at about the same level

I am going off of what i think will happen this year.
If you go off last year, than no Galway and Sch Christ. are no where in the same "discussion" as Waterford or Schoharie, this is a prediction for this year and i believe that more teams are on the same "level" this fall.

I agree with Monster that this is a new year and things can certainly change. However, for some teams you can-to a certain extent of course- look back at last year's teams and say how they will finish by how many returning players each team has. Last year Waterford won it all (and returns a pretty strong team) so they have to be the favorites.
It also depends on seeding come sectionals, which is based on over-all record I think (still like that?). Waterford has the best chance of being the one seed. Schoharie and Galway, Schen. Christian, etc...have to play each other, and Vville has Schalmont, ICC, AA to deal with. Those three teams PLUS MAPLE HILL will probably be josselling for the 2-5 spots. Oh yeah, and you have to throw in Hoosic Falls, and LG. Now that there is no c/CC split the first couple of rounds should be interesting.

We should learn somethings at the Maple hill scrimmage. It includes Waterford, Maple Hill, Vville, Schoharie, Middleburgh and Tamarac. Think all those teams were planning ahead and looking toward sectionals...YESS
